Charlottesville Wedding Photographer – Romantic Country Wedding

Here is the much anticipated sneak peek for Jillian and Chad’s wedding! Jillian and I went to high school together, and she has always had a special place in my heart ever since the day after soccer practice when our moms were late picking us up and we decided to go puddle jumping. We were covered head to toe in mud when our moms finally came and retrieved us from the school. Needless to say, I was thrilled when she wanted Aaron to be her wedding photographer and Exist N Motion to be her wedding videographer!
Jillian and Chad have such a romantic love story. They met when they were still in high school and both their families were vacationing at the same ski resort. Apparently Chad never stopped thinking about Jillian and years later, after Jillian graduated high school and began nursing school at VCU, he took a chance and called her. They went to a Halloween Party for their first date and have been together ever since.
Jillian and Chad were married a few weeks ago at the beautiful Montfair Resort Farm. They had so many amazing details at their wedding, everything was planned down to the last hair accessory (which all belonged to Jillian’s grandmother). Their wedding was a community effort, with friends, family and coworkers pitching in to make the cake, set up the reception, and even make Jillian’s veil and sash. All of the DIY projects made the wedding very personal and meaningful. The bridesmaid’s dresses were all made from repurposed vintage material, and I absolutely adore them. They were a perfect match for the wedding, and I love the bright and bold patterns! Jillian’s dress was also incredible. She looked so beautiful. I think her veil (which was made by Jillian and her mom) perfectly completed her wedding ensemble. Her bouquet was made from fresh wildflowers, picked by the bride herself!
Chad and Jillian’s dog, Remi, was the flower girl, and she was such a huge hit! She stayed for the reception and was passed around and held by the guests all night long. There were so many amazing moments during their wedding, from their Big Reveal on the most gorgeous bridge I have ever seen to their romantic send off in a rowboat with lanterns floating off into the night. My favorite moment of the whole day was when Jillian and Chad were announced husband and wife. I think it really hit Jillian that she was finally married to the love of her life and tears came to her eyes as she raised her hands in happiness. Thinking back on that moment even brings a tear to my eye as I write this.
Jillian and Chad are such terrific people. Their wedding was a blast, and totally represented who they are as a couple. Enjoy!

Charlottesville Photographer – The Clifton Inn Remodeled

Recently we had the pleasure of going out to the Clifton Inn and taking pictures of all the new additions. They have just completed the new Chef’s Counter, which is an exquisite marble topped bar in the kitchen. Guests can sit at the bar and observe their delicious dinner being made while having the opportunity to chat with Clifton’s extremely talented culinary team. They have also renovated the Terrace off of the Verandah. They extended the end of the Terrace so that it can now accommodate 130 people.
Thanks to Sarah and Matt (who you may recognize from their recent wedding at Pippin Hill) as well as Paula and Cody for being great models!

Charlottesville Wedding Photographer – Part 2 – the UVA Wedding

Now for Katie and Steve’s Wedding Pictures! Katie and Steve met at UVA, so it was fitting that their wedding was held at the Colonnade Club and Alumni Hall. Katie got her dress on in the The Jefferson Room of the Colonnade Club with the help of her bridesmaids. Then she went underneath the Rotunda and waited for Steve to meet her for the “Big Reveal”, which was emotional and sweet. They made sure to get a picture in front of Room 38 in the colonnades under the Rotunda where Katie lived her 4th year. During their walk around UVA Katie took off her shoes and held them for a few pictures, and they are some of my favorites; I love how Katie’s red shoes match Steve’s tie!
Then they had their ceremony under a Chuppah outside of the Colonnade Club, and no Jewish wedding ceremony would be complete without the traditional breaking of a glass. After the ceremony, the guests went to Alumni Hall for the reception. The reception was beautiful, with flowers from Beehive Events and well coordinated details by Barb Wired Events. The cake made by Maliha Creations was gorgeous, (and absolutely delicious, I was told). There was so much energy flowing through the night, and the guests had fun dancing to the music provided by DJ Derek Tobler. They also took a break during the usual wedding dancing to have every one join in the Virginia Reel! Then Katie and Steve made their exit amidst sparklers and a few weeks later left on their honeymoon to Greece!
