I love this summertime family portrait session Aaron did with our good friends the Stevensons, whom you may remember from the family film of their last portrait session at Veritas. For this session, the Stevensons chose to start at Devil’s Backbone and finish up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Devil’s Backbone was the perfect country setting, and Kayla and Savannah had so much fun climbing all over the hay bales while Paula and Cody looked on and laughed. Both girls are full of personality, and I love how Aaron was able to capture their silliness!
After they finished playing in the hay, the girls exchanged their cowgirl hat and boots for the absolutely beautiful handmade dresses their grandmother gave them. (Their grandmother is incredibly talented, and she actually made the dresses the girls wore in their first family session as well.) Aaron timed it just right so that they made it to the Blue Ridge Parkway as the sun was setting, and the pictures he got of their family up there are breathtaking; I was blown away when I saw them! The vibrant colors of the sunset mixed with the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains made an amazing background for their family portraits.
