Well everyone, it is with mixed emotions that I write this blog post. As some of you may have heard, I will be moving to Northern Virginia in the next few weeks to try my hand in the big city! I am very excited for the new direction my life is taking, but at the same time I am sad to say goodbye to Aaron Watson Photography and all of the wonderful people I have met through working here! I am so grateful for everything I have learned and experienced, and I want to express my love to each and every person that has made my time at Aaron Watson Photography so enriched. My biggest thank you goes to Aaron, who is one of the most generous people I know. He made me feel welcome right from the start in the amazing Charlottesville wedding industry, and he shared his knowledge of photography, business, and technology every moment along the way. (Even though he has still not succeeded in convincing me to get an iPhone, much to his chagrin!) However, the thing I am most honored to have received over the course of my time here is Aaron’s friendship. He has said that I can continue to call him and seek advice and mentoring whenever I want, so I will be taking him up on that constantly. Haha. I would also like to say that, even though I won’t be residing in Charlottesville, it will always be my home and I plan to visit frequently so don’t think you’re getting rid of me completely! Thank you all so much for your support and well wishes during my transition, it has meant so much to me, and it just goes to show what a wonderful place Charlottesville is and how the people here are as good as they come!
Besides the phenomenal people, there are so many other things I will miss about Aaron Watson Photography that it’s hard to name specific things … Except for one. The Aaron Watson Photography blog! It has always been near and dear to my heart, and that is why I am so glad that Amy, our new studio manager, is so darn fantastic. I turn the blog over to her with every confidence. She will be sharing the wonderful Aaron Watson Photography pictures with you now, so here are a few words from Amy about Amy to help you get to know her!
(Did anybody catch my Beatles reference in the title? It’s the little things!)
Love lots,
Kelsey
…
Hi there! I am so excited to be starting this position as the new studio manager. I’ve only known Kelsey for a couple of weeks but I can definitely say I’m going to miss her being here! She has been so great in training and helping me learn the ins and outs of Aaron Watson Photography.
I’ve been living in Charlottesville since I was eight and I love everything about it: the food, the people, the places, and now that I’m getting to know the wedding industry, I love that too! I graduated from Christopher Newport University this past May with a degree in Fine Arts and moved back to here to pursue a career in photography. Photography is definitely a passion of mine and I feel blessed to be working in a field that I love with some really great people. I am very fortunate to be working alongside Aaron. He is so fun and has already taught me so much! Everything from where to stand when the bride and groom have their first kiss to the best spots for lunch around downtown (Escafe is quickly becoming a favorite). One of the things I am most excited about is getting to know all of you, our wonderful clients, the various vendors, and faithful blog readers. There is such a welcoming community here in Charlottesville and it’s so great to be a part of it.
Well, that’s all for now, but don’t worry, I’ll be back soon to write more!
Much love,
Amy
Amy didn’t provide a picture, so we found the closest match we could … Aaron
