It was the perfect night for a winter themed wedding reception at the Jefferson! The downtown Charlottesville theater was decorated with homemade paper snowflakes, candles, and blue and silver ornaments. Suzanne and Kevin were happy as ever to be married and everyone was ready to celebrate! One of my favorite parts of the night was the speeches. As I listen to their family speak about how perfect Suzanne and Kevin are for each other, I could tell how loved they are by everyone there! It was a great night filled with dancing, delicious food (thanks to Harvest Moon) and lots of silly pictures in the Photobooth! Congrats to Suzanne and Kevin and Happy New Year!

2012 was such a great year, and what better way to end the year than photographing the wedding of such an awesome couple, Suzanne and Kevin! It was the second to last day of the year and I know they were so excited to end the year as husband and wife. Suzanne and Kevin met at UVA and both their parents got married at the Chapel so it was only fitting for them to continue the tradition with a beautiful wedding ceremony at the UVA Chapel! It was quite a chilly day but the wedding party were such great sports and braved the cold. Suzanne’s dress was gorgeous and I especially loved her bouquet made of broaches given to her by friends and family! Suzanne and Kevin were really excited for the first look and they were so happy to see each other. I love that they were able to spend some time together before the ceremony. Kelley and Joe’s wedding reception at Mount Ida Farm was filled with great toasts, fun dances, and balloons to end the night! The barn at Mount Ida was a perfect setting with cafe lights strung from the roof and a warm fire outside. I loved the bright red and orange flower arrangements done by Sugar Magnolias. Not only did the reception look great, but it was so much fun! The DJ, Bill Gilliam, did an amazing job and kept the energy high as Kelley and Joe celebrated their new marriage with their closest friends and family.

They had an anniversary dance to find out which couple had been married the longest. Joe’s aunt and uncle won and offered Kelley and Joe some meaningful (and funny) marriage advice!

I loved the send off! Everyone had balloon with little lights inside and they all let them go together outside as they cheered for Kelley and Joe!

Kelley and Joe are an amazing couple and we were so honored to be a part of their wedding at Mount Ida Farm! I had spent some time with each of them separately, photographing the moments before the ceremony. As they waited for 4:30 to come, Kelley upstairs and Joe downstairs, they read the notes that they had written to each other. I will never forget the emotion and excitement they had. They were about to get married and they couldn’t be happier! The ceremony by the lake was absolutely gorgeous and there was a beautiful sunset after cocktail hour which was perfect for their wedding portraits!
