We were so honored to be featured in a few wedding blogs this month, and we wanted to share the love and feature their blogs on ours! The Charlottesville Wedding Blog posted twelve of our favorite pictures from 2011, and the Bridal Bar Blog did a post on Kyle & Regan’s Fall Wedding. Both blogs are great resources for brides planning their wedding because they show off the work of local vendors, give all kinds of advice, and offer inspiration for every aspect of a wedding. Beautiful Winter Wedding at King Family Vineyards

Kate and Seth’s winter wedding at King Family Vineyards was absolutely gorgeous! I am so blown away by how romantic these wedding pictures are. I am usually not a fan of cold weather, but I would brave the chilly temperatures if I could get pictures like these! The frostiness of the scenery gave the whole wedding a mystical feel, and they carried the winter theme inside with the help of Amy Webb from Blue Ridge Floral Design and their wedding coordinator Colleen Miller. Their reception looked like a winter wonderland, I am in LOVE with the sparkly candles they set up everywhere, they’re perfect!
Kate’s dress is so beautiful, and is made even more so because she got it at Church Street Bridal. Church Street Bridal is a wedding gown shop that combines wedding dresses with philanthropy. Designers and shops donate new wedding dresses to Church Street, and when a bride purchases her dress from there, the money from the sale is donated to the Young Women’s Christian Association. The YWCA has a wide range of programs in place that help women and children, like the Domestic Violence Prevention Center and Ygyrl Leaders Mentoring for Teens. We are going to do a more extensive post on Church Street Bridal soon, but I wanted to mention it because I think it’s such a great way to help your community!
Okay, now back to the prettiness of Kate and Seth’s wedding day! Speaking of pretty things, you may notice the diamond horseshoe on Kate’s bouquet and on their wedding cake by Paradox Pastry. They added this detail because Kate loves horses, and Seth is a farrier! What a neat way to incorporate that aspect of their lives into their wedding. Kate had a dessert table for their guests to enjoy, and some thank you boxes for them to fill up and take home as favors. I have been told that the chocolate covered pretzels were incredibly delicious. Derek Tobler was a phenomenal DJ as usual, and helped the guests get down to the cupid shuffle. All the guests made sure to show off their best moves, and a few of them borrowed props from the Crazybooth to give them an extra edge. Good call in my opinion! A feather boa adds to any occasion.

Wedding Photographer Charlottesville VA – Delfosse Vineyards – Liz & Eric’s Wedding Part 2

Liz and Eric’s wedding at Delfosse Vineyard continues with a beautiful ceremony officiated by the wonderful Claire Goodman. Then two of their friends sang “One Hand, One Heart” from West Side Story, which I think is one of the most beautiful songs ever. West Side Story also happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time. Anyway, back to the joyful union of Liz and Eric! After the ceremony they took the bridal party portraits, and everyone rose to the occasion and thought of some clever ideas for pictures. I love the one of the groomsmen peeking out through the holes in the vines, and the pictures Aaron took of Liz and Eric together in the vineyard are absolutely amazing.
The reception, held in the tasting room, had many unique aspects. One of these was the soda ‘Fizzy Lizzy’ that the guests enjoyed throughout the day; a fun reference to the bride. Also, Liz and Eric love to dance, Eric would even visit Liz at college to attend their swing club dances! Many of their friends in the club (some of which are competitive ballroom dancers) were at the wedding, so needless to say, the dancing during the reception was top notch! At the end of the evening Liz and Eric walked through their family and friends yielding sparklers to the log cabin where Liz started the day. The happy couple left the next day for their honeymoon at the Playa Del Carmen. Congratulations to Liz and Eric!

In this picture, Liz’s gorgeous bouquet, courtesy of Sugar Magnolias, looks terrific next to the green of the vines, her dress falls perfectly, and the rays of the sun all come together to make a stunningly romantic photograph. It definitely goes in the all time favorite category!

Wedding Photographer Charlottesville VA – Delfosse Vineyards – Liz & Eric’s Wedding Part 1

You were recently introduced to the fun personalities of Liz and Eric when we showed you pictures from their engagement session in Richmond VA at Maymont. The fun continues with their wedding last weekend at Delfosse Vineyards! I loved the look of the log cabin where Liz got ready, and the pictures of Liz putting on her dress look great with the rustic background. They had a purple color scheme, from Liz’s purple shoes to the groom and groomsmen’s purple bow ties, with awesome argyle socks in between. That pop of color looked great in the pictures, and as you will see tomorrow, continued to be featured throughout the day.
True to form, Liz and Eric’s first look was romantic, funny and beautiful. The pictures of the two of them overlooking Delfosse are breathtaking, and so sweet. I love the one of the two of them sharing a kiss while they are sitting in the tall grass with Liz’s dress spread out beside them. There are many more beautiful pictures to share from Liz and Eric’s Ceremony and Reception that you can look forward to seeing tomorrow!

Charlottesville Wedding Videographers – Stephanie & Leigh’s Fusion Film at Veritas Winery

We posted some pictures of Stephanie and Leigh’s beautiful May wedding at Veritas, and if you’ll remember we told you to stay tuned for their Fusion Wedding Film. Well, here it is! We mixed some of the video highlights of their wedding day with Aaron Watson Photography’s amazing pictures.
We started the day with the girls at the Clifton Inn as they were getting ready, then went over to the Doubletree Hotel to capture some footage of Leigh getting ready and hanging out with his groomsmen. Then they all piled into the Albemarle Vintage Limousines 1940 Packard Limo and headed to Veritas where Stephanie was finishing getting ready and awaiting the ceremony!
Stephanie and Leigh’s vows to each other were so heartfelt and emotional. Then everyone laughed when Stephanie made sure she hammered the box with their love letters shut! The reception was beautiful thanks to help from Beehive Events, and the toasts were incredible. Stephanie’s Maid of Honor had everyone smiling as she told the guests what Stephanie said about Leigh in the beginning of their relationship, and kept us laughing when she divulged Stephanie’s Aunt’s first impressions of Leigh. Leigh’s best man was his father, and he gave one of the best toasts we’ve ever heard. We chose ‘Enjoy the Ride’ by Katy Voegele as the first song, and then ‘Happy’ by Secrets in Stereo for the second, and happiness seemed to be the theme for Stephanie and Leigh’s wedding day. Enjoy!

Grier & Tad’s Wedding … Fusion Style!

I am very excited to show you Grier & Tad’s wedding! For many reasons, but most of all because every time I watch this video I think of what an awesome couple they are and how blessed I was to be a part of their special day! … now before I start getting all teary eyed and stuff I want to thank Erin Manfredi, Ashley Chipman, and Kyle Patton who all were an awesome help and I could have not done this without them. You guys rock! Now to tell you a little bit about Grier & Tad’s wedding day …

One of my favorite places for weddings in Charlottesville is The Clifton Inn as everyone there is very nice and accommodating, the food is the best in all of Virginia (maybe the universe), and in the spring it is absolutely gorgeous with flowers galore! Grier & Tad were married on April 18th, 2009 which was perfect timing as all of the blossoms were just starting to peak! Pat’s Floral Design did a beautiful job bringing in additional floral arrangements for the bouquets, garters, and tent decorations.

The ceremony was very unique as Dave Norris, the mayor of Charlottesville, officiated his first wedding along with officiant extraordinaire Claire Goodman who local brides might know from the Charlottesville Wedding Blog and Sacred Ground Ceremonies. It was a very touching and heartfelt ceremony that had many choking up and a few tears being shed. Later on that evening the party kicked off with the Kings of Swing rocking out! I don’t think I had seen a 12 piece band play at a wedding until then … it was very impressive! To add a nice little touch the tent (from Skyline Tent Company) was adorned with beautiful lanterns that really made for an awesome and unforgettable atmosphere. I definitely recommend them for all weddings and I think you will see why when you watch the video!

With that said I would like to wish congratulations to Grier & Tad, and I hope you enjoy the film!
