Aaron Watson Photography’s Version of a Photo Booth – The CRAZYBOOTH!

We haven’t put up pictures from an Aaron Watson Photography Crazybooth experience in awhile, and after we saw the pictures from Kate and Seth’s Crazybooth, we realized it was high time we posted a few! We recently added a few amazing props which were generously donated by one of our brides after her wedding. Among these new additions were an assortment of wigs, a green tutu, zebra pants, and, my personal favorite, sparkly Michael Jackson gloves! Kate and Seth’s guests put all of these to good use, and the pictures that resulted were so funny we had to share a few!

Beautiful Winter Wedding at King Family Vineyards

Kate and Seth’s winter wedding at King Family Vineyards was absolutely gorgeous! I am so blown away by how romantic these wedding pictures are. I am usually not a fan of cold weather, but I would brave the chilly temperatures if I could get pictures like these! The frostiness of the scenery gave the whole wedding a mystical feel, and they carried the winter theme inside with the help of Amy Webb from Blue Ridge Floral Design and their wedding coordinator Colleen Miller. Their reception looked like a winter wonderland, I am in LOVE with the sparkly candles they set up everywhere, they’re perfect!
Kate’s dress is so beautiful, and is made even more so because she got it at Church Street Bridal. Church Street Bridal is a wedding gown shop that combines wedding dresses with philanthropy. Designers and shops donate new wedding dresses to Church Street, and when a bride purchases her dress from there, the money from the sale is donated to the Young Women’s Christian Association. The YWCA has a wide range of programs in place that help women and children, like the Domestic Violence Prevention Center and Ygyrl Leaders Mentoring for Teens. We are going to do a more extensive post on Church Street Bridal soon, but I wanted to mention it because I think it’s such a great way to help your community!
Okay, now back to the prettiness of Kate and Seth’s wedding day! Speaking of pretty things, you may notice the diamond horseshoe on Kate’s bouquet and on their wedding cake by Paradox Pastry. They added this detail because Kate loves horses, and Seth is a farrier! What a neat way to incorporate that aspect of their lives into their wedding. Kate had a dessert table for their guests to enjoy, and some thank you boxes for them to fill up and take home as favors. I have been told that the chocolate covered pretzels were incredibly delicious. Derek Tobler was a phenomenal DJ as usual, and helped the guests get down to the cupid shuffle. All the guests made sure to show off their best moves, and a few of them borrowed props from the Crazybooth to give them an extra edge. Good call in my opinion! A feather boa adds to any occasion.

Bridal Portraits – Charlottesville Wedding Photography

Prepare to be dazzled by Anne’s beautiful Bridal Portraits! Anne and her husband Campbell were married at King Family Vineyards in September, and she decided to have her bridal portraits taken at King Family as well. There were a few times they had to postpone the session due to bad weather, but eventually everything worked out, and it ended up being a good thing they waited because the fall foliage was at its peak for her session! Anne is a beautiful bride, she’s so much fun, and the scenery surrounding King Family Vineyards is absolutely gorgeous. I love every photograph from her session. The pictures Aaron got after the sun went down are some of my favorites, the deep blues of the sky combined with the warm light of the candles surrounding Anne look amazing!

Aaron Watson Photography presents Photo Fusion!

We are very excited to show you the newest product from Aaron Watson Photography: Photo Fusion! Photo Fusion is an enhanced slideshow of a couple’s wedding pictures, fused with audio highlights from their vows, readings, and speeches throughout the wedding. Anne and Campbell’s wedding was our first Photo Fusion Wedding, and the best part about it was that Anne had no idea we were doing it! Campbell knew we were recording audio, but he wasn’t sure what we were going to do with it once we recorded it. We were able to surprise both of them when they came in to the studio to see all of their wedding pictures. As soon as the video started playing Anne cuddled up with Campbell and a box of tissues, so we knew we had a winner! Let us know what you think!

Charlottesville Wedding Photography at King Family Vineyards

As promised, here is the full post of Anne and Campbell’s beautiful wedding pictures from their wedding at King Family Vineyards. There were so many gorgeous images from the day; the weather couldn’t have been more perfect! There were a lot of unique parts to Anne and Campbell’s wedding, and one of my favorites was their version of the sand ceremony. Before they poured in the two colors of sand, they put 9 rocks into the vase, each rock bearing a virtue that together make up the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. I was struck by the symbolism of the different colors of sand representing Anne and Campbell as individuals joining together and enveloping love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
After their engagement session, Anne and Campbell were used to the camera, and had no problems letting their personalities show at their wedding. They had so much fun with each other and with their family and friends. I love the pictures of Anne and Campbell with Anne’s sister, and then of the two of them playing with her veil. Their facial expressions in those pictures are hilarious.
Enjoy seeing the pictures from their day and be sure to check back tomorrow, because we did something with their pictures that we haven’t done before! Get excited, it’s awesome!

We are excited to share a few pictures from Anne and Campbell’s wedding with you today. Anne and Campbell were married at King Family Vineyards yesterday on September 11th. We were moved by the patriotism and love in their wedding and how they were able to create an occasion of happiness on what has been a solemn day for the past ten years. In reflecting back on this weekend, we wanted to share a quick sneak peek of a few of our favorite pictures from their wedding. Engagement Photos – Mount Ida Farm

I am so excited to show you these amazing engagement pictures from Anne and Campbell’s engagement session at Mount Ida Farm. As you no doubt remember from our first sneak peek of Mount Ida Farm, it is an incredibly beautiful venue, with so many gorgeous settings. This time I also had the opportunity to take pictures at Mount Pleasant (Mount Ida’s sister farm), so I made sure to take Anne and Campbell everywhere! Fortunately, they were up for anything, from feeding horses to playing on the dock, and we lucked out with a gorgeous sunset!

Anne is such a sweetheart, I originally got to know her through Keswick Vineyards, as she was the tasting room manager there. I met Campbell shortly thereafter, at a Keswick Vineyards party at the Shebeen (a very popular restaurant with the Keswick Vineyards crowd), and even though they were not engaged yet, I could tell that they would be shortly … and I was right! They have a great chemistry with each other and always have fun together. During our session, they loved being goofy and had no reservations about showing off their personalities!

Recently Anne became the event manager at King Family Vineyards (a new position which was just created), and I could not be happier for her! It was perfect timing too, as Campbell’s deployment was moved up, making their engagement much shorter then originally anticipated. Now instead of having close to a year to plan their wedding, they only had 4 months! Thankfully King Family had an opening, and Anne and Campbell will be having their wedding there coming up on September 11th. I am also really excited, because Anne & Campbell just moved from Richmond to Crozet, so I will get to see them more often and help them get to know all of the great places around Charlottesville!

I can’t wait for their wedding! Until then, enjoy a few of their fun engagement photos!

Sugar Hollow & Castle Hill Cider – Charlottesville Photography Blog

It’s rare that I get a weekend off, but when I do I love to spend time in the outdoors around Charlottesville with friends. I love exploring the wonderful things that Charlottesville, Va has to offer like the wineries, the hiking trails, the orchards, and find myself always discovering something new. Last weekend I had a chance to visit blue hole at Sugar Hollow with my friends Willie, Kat and Stephen (who you may know as the winemaker of Keswick Vineyards).

Sugar Hollow is a not-so-well-kept secret among locals looking to get out of town and take a dip in a natural spring. The waterfalls are somewhat small, but very cute and add to the tranquility and beauty of Sugar Hollow. I had fun taking some long exposure pictures of them while Willie and Stephen had a rock skipping competition. After our fun little adventure we all went to Da Luca Cafe and Wine Bar in the Old Trail subdivision of Crozet for an amazing dinner. I would highly recommend it to everyone! I will certainly be returning for the hummus and Pita bread.

The next day Willie and I visited the brand new Castle Hill Cider, where we had a chance to taste some of their cider and run into a few friends (including Paulette of Glasshouse winery and Jen, former manager of King Family Vineyards). Although the ciders are still somewhat young, it is worth a trip out there to experience the views and beautiful location they have. I especially love their barn and the Linden Grove. It’s a great place for weddings, and I hope that we have a chance to photograph one there soon! If you happen to venture over to Castle Hill, be sure to stop by Keswick Vineyards across the street and say hello to Stephen (and Kat if you are there on a Sunday).

I hope you enjoy your weekend! Today I am looking forward to experiencing one of my favorite Samba bands, Beleza Brasil, at Glasshouse Winery (another beautiful venue where I would love to photograph a wedding)!

Jennifer and Jason’s Engagement Session

Two blog posts in two weeks! So much better than one blog post every few months, don’t you think?!

… anyway, I thought I would share a few pictures from Jennifer and Jason’s engagement session which took place last weekend at the beautiful King Family Vineyards and Darden (UVA’s school of Business)! Jennifer and Jason met while attending Darden, and although they now live up in DC, Jennifer told me that they wanted to come back to Charlottesville for their engagement pictures. I think they made the right choice as I had the hardest time trying to choose my favorite pictures to show you as they were all so beautiful! Here are 5 of my favorites, some of which I had a little fun with in Photoshop!
